Today more and more organizations are looking for socially aware business leaders who understand there are important considerations for other constituencies beyond the traditional stakeholders including the environment and the communities in which they serve.  

When it comes to technology, leaders today face a myriad of new challenges due to the speed of technological, social, and economic change.  Adaptability will be critical for future leaders. Even the best of class tech tools from a few years ago are already becoming obsolete. This means keeping up requires embracing things like automation and artificial intelligence (AI) to glean more key insights faster. This means humans can be even better at generating value through skills like vision, intuition and creativity that machines and robots will never have. In other words, leverage what they do best so we can do what we do best even better. 

Traditional leadership perspectives still have a place in today’s new world of work. But they need to be merged with a new set of emerging competencies and we must recognize what continuous evolving and effective leadership looks like in the 21st century.
